How To Swaddle A Baby

With this step-by-step guide and a little practice, you'll become a master swaddler in no time!

Why swaddle?

Swaddling is said to be familiar to babies, as it recreates the secure and cozy feeling of the womb, helping babies sleep longer and more soundly. It also combats overstimulation and prevents unnecessary wake-ups with sudden involuntary movements caused by the Moro (or 'startle') reflex in newborns.

When to stop swaddling?

Most babies will let you know when it's time to graduate to a sleeping bag by fussing or fighting their way out of being swaddled. This usually happens anywhere between three to six months.
